Parking P20 is only accessible from France.
Parking P2 is designed for quick drop-offs or stops of less than an hour.
Parking lot P51 is designed for long-term parking. It is located about 8 minutes’ walk from Terminal 1. It’s a popular option thanks to its competitive rates.

From private companies located near Geneva airport have sprung up to meet the demand for more economical parking solutions, particularly for longer stays.
They offer a range of services, including transfers, online booking and vehicle washing and maintenance.
Location of parking lots on the airport map
Here’s where you’ll find the official parking lots. They are in the immediate vicinity of terminal 1.
That said, Parking Cointrin is not much further away, just 1,500 metres from the terminal 1which is exactly 3 minutes by shuttle. Yes, Parking Cointrin offers a free shuttle service between the parking lot and terminal 1.
How do I choose the ideal parking lot at Geneva airport?
There are several criteria to consider.
Depending on parking duration
With the exception of parking lot P2, which is dedicated to hourly parking, all other official Geneva Airport parking lots are suitable for long-term parking.
Parking Cointrin, on the other hand, offers both short- and long-term parking solutions, as well as discounted rates and an efficient shuttle service for rapid access to the terminals.
Depending on your budget
Official parking rates are not necessarily on a sliding scale, and the most expensive parking lots, P1 and P20, end up being very expensive over the long term.
For economical alternatives, Parking Cointrin combines competitive rates with additional services, such as a free shuttle to the terminals.
According to opinions
Reviews of Geneva airport’s official parking facilities are quite positive, thanks in particular to their proximity. Nevertheless, travelers often mention their high cost.
Conversely, Parking Cointrin receives rave reviews for its excellent value, attentive customer service and convenience. Regular shuttles and a seamless user experience make it an increasingly popular choice with travelers.
Easy access to Geneva airport parking lots
In this respect, the airport’s small size is an asset.
Access map to each parking lot
Geneva airport enjoys excellent road access, thanks to its direct connection to the Swiss A1 freeway.
P1, P2 and P26 can be reached directly from the A1 freeway by following the “Parking Terminal 1” signs. These parking lots are located on the Swiss side, in the immediate vicinity of the terminals.
For travellers arriving from France, P20 is accessible via Ferney-Voltaire customs. Just follow the signs for the French sector of the airport.
P51, slightly further away, can be reached by following the “Long-term parking” signs and offers a simplified entrance for drivers looking for an economical option.
Parking Cointrin is ideally located just 3 minutes from Terminal 1. It has fast, easy access from all major roads in France and Switzerland.
💡 Good to know: Parking Cointrin’s address is Chemin de l’Avanchet 26, 1216 Cointrin.
Itinerary from downtown Geneva
For the airport from downtown Genevafollow this itinerary :
Head northwest over the Pont du Mont-Blanc.
Continue straight ahead on Avenue de France.
Continue on Avenue Louis-Casaï (Route de Meyrin), following signs for the airport.
This journey covers about 4 kilometers and usually takes between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on traffic conditions.
💡 Good to know: this route does not take the A1 freeway, which means that no motorway vignette is required.
Itinerary from the French border
To reach Geneva airport by car from the French border, here are two main options.
The A40 freeway to Geneva
Approach the Swiss border, following the signs for “Lausanne/Geneva-Airport”. Pass through Swiss customs at Bardonnex, where you can buy a Swiss motorway vignette if required. Once in Switzerland, continue on the freeway, following the signs for “Genève-Aéroport”.
Ferney-Voltaire customs to access the France sector
From Annecy or Chambéry, take the A41 freeway towards Geneva. Near Saint-Julien-en-Genevois, take the “St-Julien-en-Genevois” exit and follow the N201 towards Geneva. Go through Perly customs, then follow signs for “Aéroport/Palexpo”.
From Gex or Ferney-Voltaire, follow the D984 towards Ferney-Voltaire. Before the Ferney customs post, turn right, following the signs for “Aéroport secteur France”. This route takes you directly to the French sector of the airport, without entering Swiss territory.
💡 Good to know: until you reach customs (Bardonnex or Ferney-Voltaire), roads and freeways are French. After customs, they become Swiss and require a vignette autoroutière (motorway tax sticker) if you use the freeways in Switzerland.
Free shuttles to the terminals
A shuttle transports passengers between parking lots and airport terminals. However, not all Geneva airport parking lots offer this service.
The most remote official airport parking lots, such as P51 and P26, do not offer a shuttle service for passengers using their own vehicles.
As for private parking lots, they generally offer this service because they are located a little further from the airport. BibiPark, for example, charges CHF 30 for a round trip.
☀️ Shuttle buses from Parking Cointrin are fast (3 minutes) and above all free.
